🎯
Gold Standard for Adaptive Behavior: The ABAS-3 (Harrison & Oakland, 2015) is the most comprehensive norm-referenced measure of adaptive skills across the lifespan (ages 0–89). It maps directly to the AAIDD adaptive behavior framework required for intellectual disability identification, yielding a General Adaptive Composite (GAC), three domain composites (Conceptual, Social, Practical), and up to 11 skill area scaled scores. Multi-rater design allows cross-informant comparison for a complete picture of functional abilities.
