PASS Theory: The CAS2 measures four neurocognitive processes — Planning, Attention-Arousal, Simultaneous, and Successive — derived from Luria's neuropsychological model. Unlike CHC batteries, the CAS2 evaluates cognitive processes, making it especially informative for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental profiles (Naglieri, Das & Goldstein, 2014).

Overall Neurocognitive Index
Composite of all four PASS scales — reflects overall neurocognitive processing ability (Planning + Attention + Simultaneous + Successive).
PASS Scale Scores At least one required
All four PASS scales are standard scores (mean = 100, SD = 15). Enter all administered scale scores for the most complete PASS profile analysis.
Planning · P
Planning
Strategy & Self-Regulation
Strategy formation, self-monitoring, and executive regulation of cognitive activity. Prefrontal lobe processes.
Attention · A
Attention-Arousal
Selective Focus & Sustain
Selective and focused attention, resistance to distraction, sustained attention over time.
Simultaneous · S
Simultaneous
Integration & Synthesis
Integrating stimuli into a coherent whole; spatial reasoning, logical-grammatical relations, and holistic synthesis.
Successive · S
Successive
Serial Order & Sequencing
Working with information in a specific serial order — sequential processing, phonological coding, and ordered chains.
Supplemental Composites Optional
Enter any supplemental composite scores if derived. These provide additional interpretive detail beyond the four core PASS scales. Leave blank if not administered or calculated.
Supplemental
EF w/o Working Memory
Executive Function (no WM)
Executive function processes excluding working memory demands.
Supplemental
EF with Working Memory
Executive Function (with WM)
Executive function combined with working memory demands.
Supplemental
Verbal Content
Verbal Task Performance
Performance on CAS2 tasks using verbally presented or verbally mediated content.
Supplemental
Nonverbal Content
Nonverbal Task Performance
Performance on CAS2 tasks using figural or nonverbal content.
