PASS Theory · Brief Form: The CAS2: Brief is an 8-subtest screening version of the full CAS-2. It measures the same four neurocognitive processes — Planning, Attention-Arousal, Simultaneous, and Successive — using 2 subtests per scale (~30 min). Produces the same PASS scale standard scores and Full Scale composite as the full battery. Ideal for initial identification and eligibility screening (Naglieri, Das & Goldstein, 2014).
Screening Instrument — 8 subtests (2 per PASS scale). No supplemental composites. For comprehensive evaluation, administer the full CAS-2.
Student Information
Full Scale Composite Required
Standard Score scale: Mean = 100, SD = 15 (range typically 40–160). Enter the CAS2: Brief Full Scale standard score.
Global Composite

Overall Neurocognitive Index
Composite of all four PASS scales — reflects overall neurocognitive processing ability (Planning + Attention + Simultaneous + Successive) from the 8-subtest brief form.
PASS Scale Scores At least one required
All four PASS scales are standard scores (mean = 100, SD = 15). Each scale is derived from 2 subtests in the Brief form. Enter all administered scale scores for the most complete PASS profile analysis.
