⚠️
Screening Tool Only: The SRS-2 is a screening instrument, not a diagnostic tool. Elevated scores indicate the need for comprehensive ASD evaluation, not a diagnosis. This report should be interpreted by a qualified clinician in the context of a full evaluation including the ADOS-2 and developmental history.

SRS-2 (Constantino & Gruber, 2012): 65-item standardized rating scale measuring social impairment associated with ASD in ages 2.5+. Five Treatment Subscales (Social Awareness, Social Cognition, Social Communication, Social Motivation, RRB) and two DSM-5 Subscales (SCI, RRB). All scores are T-scores: mean = 50, SD = 10. Classification: ≤59 Within Normal Limits · 60–65 Mild · 66–75 Moderate · ≥76 Severe. Higher T = more impairment.

SRS-2 Total Score Required
T-score scale: Mean = 50, SD = 10 (range typically 20–90). The SRS-2 Total is the primary summary score. Classification: ≤59 Within Normal Limits · 60–65 Mild · 66–75 Moderate · ≥76 Severe. Higher T = greater social impairment.

SRS-2 Total
Overall Social Impairment Severity
Sum of all 65 items — the primary ASD screening index. Required for generating a report narrative.
Treatment Subscales Optional — T-scores (20–90) · Higher = More Impairment
The five Treatment Subscales identify specific areas of social difficulty to guide intervention planning. Enter any subscale T-scores available. These are not required but significantly enhance the narrative.
Social Subscales
Social
Social Awareness
SA · Detecting Social Cues
Ability to detect and process socially relevant stimuli — facial expressions, tone of voice, social conventions.
Social
Social Cognition
SC · Interpreting Social Cues
Ability to interpret social cues once detected — inferring intentions, taking others' perspectives, social meaning.
Social
Social Communication
SCom · Pragmatic Language
Expressive social communication — reciprocal language use, conversational turn-taking, social idioms and pragmatics.
Motivation & Behavior Subscales
Social
Social Motivation
SM · Drive to Engage Socially
Degree to which an individual is motivated to engage in social interaction — approach vs. avoidance, quality of social engagement.
RRB
Restricted Interests & Repetitive Behavior
RRB (Treatment Subscale)
Rigidity in thinking and behavior, stereotyped mannerisms, limited range of interests, unusual preoccupations.
DSM-5 Compatible Subscales Optional — T-scores (20–90)
The DSM-5 Compatible Subscales map SRS-2 items to the two core DSM-5 ASD symptom criteria. SCI corresponds to Criterion A (social communication/interaction deficits); RRB corresponds to Criterion B (restricted/repetitive behaviors). Enter if obtained.
DSM-5 Criterion A
Social Communication & Interaction
SCI · DSM-5 Compatible
Persistent deficits in social communication and interaction across multiple contexts (DSM-5 Criterion A for ASD).
DSM-5 Criterion B
Restricted Interests & Repetitive Behavior
RRB (DSM-5 Subscale)
Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities as defined by DSM-5 Criterion B for ASD.
